HAMS Thomas Herbert

Tom was the 4th child of 8 children, born to George Henry Hams (18.08.1880-09.04.1941) and Lily Jane Wood (24.12.1886-02.02.1975. They were married in 1904, and created the farm called "Glencoe" at Gnowangerup.

He was born on 19th July 1913 and died on 20th October 2014. Tom left school at the age of 11, when his dad George, became ill and could not manage the farm.

George died in 1941 when Tom was 28.

Tom married Joyce Rita Skewes on 9th October 1943.
Tom and Joy had three children:
Arnold Thomas Hams born 21st August 1944.
Malcolm David Hams born 26th April 1946.
Lesley Christine Hams born 28th December 1949

Tom ran Glencoe, and he formally owned it along with Joyce on 15th August 1953.

Arnold and Malcolm were formally included in the partnership in 1964. Then Tom, Joyce & Malcolm owned Glencoe on 6th June 1973. The farm was sold in 1979.
